Miriam’s Place is a homestead of 6000 m2 located in the tiny village of Ano Proespera on the north western side of Ikaria. At an altitude of 300 meters you can enjoy the gorgeous sea and mountain view, and amazing sunsets. The place is quiet and peaceful. Ideal to relax, de-stress and decompress from daily life, or simply to get inspired by the sounds, scents and vibes of nature. The temperate climate makes it a pleasant destination in each season of the year; not too hot during summer, not too cold during winter. The village is remote and secluded, yet close enough to everything you may need. Here you will definitely find your peace and quiet!
On the property there are two authentic Ikarian stone houses, an outdoor kitchen, a workshop, a root cellar, and a chicken coop. Everything is spread out over a large piece of land with organic vegetable and herb gardens, olive groves, an orchard and a vineyard. This ensures privacy and serenity.
As a guest you can use everything that grows on the land and, if you wish, you can help out with various agricultural and farming activities. When staying here you actually don’t have to leave the property because everything you need is here: food, wine, music, friendly people and animals, and a stress-free atmosphere.

What makes Ikaria so special and differentiates it from other islands is the people’s mentality, their extraordinary “filoxenia” (Greek hospitality), and their natural, stress-free way of life.
Ikaria is also listed as a “Blue zone”, one of the few regions of the world where inhabitants tend to live longer and healthier than average. The island has a rich variety of nature: sandy beaches, rocky mountains, forests, spectacular rock formations, lunar landscapes, waterfalls, and natural hot springs.
Ikaria is well-known for wine, honey, cheese, and not to forget, the traditional local fests, called “Panigiri”.
